ATV Maine’s Safety Trailers

We have been notified by Inland Fisheries and Wildlife that our safety trailer use is not in compliance with the current laws pertaining to this type of activity.  Until this situation is resolved neither ATV Maine nor any of our member clubs can hold a hands on training course unless all of the participants have had the State’s approved safety course and obtained their certification offered through Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.  One option for clubs to consider until this situation is rectified, would be to offer the state’s course say on Saturday and then do our hands on course Sunday or the following Saturday.  

I will meet with the folks at Inland Fisheries soon to find out what our options are. It may take a change in the current laws to resolve the issue. We will keep you updated on this in our news letters and the E-Paper. Dan Mitchell - President
