A message from your new President John Raymond,

Hello ATVERS, my name is John Raymond, and I am your newly elected President of ATV Maine. I am a lifelong
resident of Maine and have lived in Millinocket Maine for the 65 years that I have been on this earth. I have been
married to my wife Natalie for 43 years this month. I have two children, Jason who lives in Azle Texas with his wife
Jennifer and two children and my daughter Jennifer who lives in Pittsfield Maine with her fiancé Justin and three
children. I have participated in off road motorcycle racing for many years competing in New England Sports Committee
(NESC) Motocross, New England Trail Riders Association (NETRA) Hare Scrambles, Canadian Motorcycle Association
(CMA) and some Road Racing in the AMA from 1970’s to early 90’s. I was instrumental in opening the first Multi-use ATV
trail in the Katahdin Area called KRMUT West in 2012 and my club the Northern Timber Cruisers is in the process of
finalizing KRMUT East that will connect Northern Maine to Western Maine through Medway, East Millinocket and
Millinocket in the 2023 season. I have been president of Fireman & Oilers union, Town Council member for 6 years, and
volunteered for organizations and local committees. I have held several offices of the Northern Timber Cruisers
Snowmobile and ATV Club and currently in my 4th year the President of Northern Timber Cruisers and the last three
years holding down a position of V.P. of ATV Maine at the same time.

So, by now you must be asking what this has to do with being the President of ATV Maine………first I would like to
thank the present officers of ATV Maine for working with me and especially Real Deschene past president of ATV Maine
for his knowledge of the everyday workings of this great organization. From day one they have supported and fulfilled
the requests that I proposed and all while working together with great results. All of this made it easier for me to make
the decision to take the president’s job, a job that I hope to bring some changes with the help of the members and my
board. I have listened to many concerns over the years taking calls, at meetings in person and by doing that I learned we
need to make some changes. With all my experiences that I have mentioned above I think that I can help ATV Maine
achieve a lot of it. In the coming weeks the clubs will be notified by emails and postal letters explaining our new
membership forms and new process of handling of memberships and sticker system beginning the 2023 season. But
don’t worry it will all be explained in the coming weeks.

Speaking of the 2023 season…….WHAT is ATV MAINE DOING FOR ME????…………..Glad you asked!!! Because here is
what we are working on in 2023!

Hired a new Lobbyist starting Jan 1st Keith Herrick of GK Strategies
Starting a new Membership system complete with new membership cards all supplied by ATV Maine! New Stickers!
Working on Two bills for the upcoming Legislature …….. GAS TAX Study Sponsored by Rep. Scott Landry and
Club Membership bill sponsored by Rep Rick Mason
Hiring Daryl Friedman as full time Data/Media/Webmaster.
Meeting and working with the current Legislature
Holding more Children Safety trailer courses.
Working with New Brunswick and Legislature for a new reciprocity law.
Offering Liability insurance at reasonable prices and yes, this year we are offering Officer & Directors Liability
insurance also for very reasonable prices! Clubs don’t forget January 1st, 2023, is when the state of Maine landowner
liability insurance is dependent on clubs having their own Liability insurance……..VERY IMPORTANT if you want to
protect your club and belongings!

We will be working with the legislature on the insurance problems facing ATV Clubs.
Lastly, I want to inform members that ATV Maine will be hosting the first ATV/UTV Trade Show in Bangor Maine in the
Spring of 2024 at the Cross Center details coming soon!

Now you can see from the goals that i am trying to achieve we are going to have a pretty busy season for 2023 and
when you look at what the benefits can be you’re getting a pretty good deal for $10 a year to Represent ATV’s/UTV’s in
Augusta, Reasonable Insurance rates, full time web presence keeping you up to date now that we hired Daryl, making
membership more user friendly, Free $3500 AD&D insurance for every family member at no charge and now bringing
a trade show that will offer the latest accessories and original equipment, safety classes and instructional classes to
keep the clubs up to date!

I don’t want to dwell on the past and moving forward I’m a big believer that there is strength in numbers and if we want
to be heard then we need to join our local ATV Clubs and move forward with a strong membership, so i am welcoming
all clubs both small and large to join and support the movement!!! United we ride, divided we lose!

Sincerely,

John Raymond
